The truth about hypnosis is that it is a natural, safe, effective means to achieve rapid change in your life. Take a moment and think about some part of your life you want to change. Just imagine what it will be like when that problem is in the past. Doesn't that feel good?

Hypnosis is a proven tool to help people access areas of their conscious mind, that are often times obscure or hidden. During hypnotherapy, you relax your mind and body, moving past the guard of your subconscious mind, to the subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind is a sponge waiting to absorb whatever you give it. Your subconscious mind doesn't know the difference between reality and imagination. Therefore, if you can get past the locked gates of your conscious mind to your subconscious mind, you can feed the subconscious "imagined reality." For instance...if you can imagine yourself as a non-smoker, your subconscious mind will accept that as reality. By reprogramming your subconscious mind you can change your actual behavior.

During hypnosis, positive and healing suggestions are able to sink deeply into your mind much more quickly and strongly than when you are in a normal, awake state of mind.  It's a lot like a computer program that runs in our brain, virtually controlling our lives. We are unaware of the thoughts and feelings that reside there, but they are more powerful than the thoughts and feelings we are aware of.

Hypnotism isn't some magical, mystical trance that someone places on you by swinging a watch back and forth. Instead, it is a natural state of your amazing brain. When you access your subconscious, you are basically using self-hypnosis. Probably the most obvious example of this is when you are driving a car and begin to relax your mind and think about something other than the road in front of you. Five, maybe ten minutes later, you arrive at your destination and suddenly realize you are there, but you don't consciously remember driving yourself there! You entered your subconscious mind.

Hypnosis is often misunderstood by those who have never directly experienced it. Much of the misinformation comes from the movies and TV shows, and some people mistakenly believe that hypnosis is not safe. Some people mistakenly believe that a hypnotist can control them, or they might reveal some deep, dark secret while in hypnosis. Some people mistakenly believe that they might not “wake up.” or that they cannot be hypnotized.

Everyone capable of understanding is capable of being hypnotized. However, hypnosis is a 100% cooperative effort, so you can always choose not to go into hypnosis. It is always your choice to go into hypnosis. It is always your choice to go deeper into hypnosis. It is always your choice to stay in hypnosis. It is always your choice to follow the suggestions you hear while in hypnosis. It is always a choice what you say and reveal while in hypnosis.
